17th Century Reproduction carved oak box

Here is a reproduction of a 17th century carved oak box.  These may have been used to hold a Bible, a book, stationary, or other valuables.  The v tool was used to carve gothic arches and other details were added with carving gouges.  The lid and bottom were assembled with cut nails that were clinched.  These have the traditional an oxide coating.
